Manifesto/Bio

Hello! My name is Molly Winslow and I am a Film major with a Creative Writing minor. I'm from the incredibly small town of Perquimans, NC which is not far from the Outer Banks. I have always loved the beach more than anything and it definitely plays a major role in my inspiration. I love the sound of the waves, the feeling of the sand and the warm air, and watching people interact and just do what they do. I have recently picked up photography as a hobby and about 90% of my photos are taken at the beach.

I love movies, obviously, or else I wouldn't want to make them. BUT, I would not consider myself a "cinefile." I cannot list every director and actor of all my favorite movies and NONE of my favorite movies are "high art" or obvious "film major favorites." Often times throughout my years here at UNCW, this fact has worried me. I have had professors literally say that you cannot be filmmaker if you're not a cinefile, which is why I will do anything to prove them wrong. I love creating art and I will never stop.
